hello_world
I pursued cinematography for 18 years. It was my dream career since I was ten, I got a bachelors of fine arts degree for it, and I was successful enough to live off of it in NYC for six years.
Until now.
Last year I realized filmmaking isn’t for me anymore. I guess at a certain point some passions can really just die, and no matter what I seemed to do (I tried taking on fun projects, vacations, etc)… nothing could re-ignite that flame. I have several theories as to why I lost that passion – I won’t go into them in this post, but my love of filmmaking has certainly been squashed.
So here I am. Suddenly I’m my own person. I’m not filmmaker Nate anymore… just Nate. This liberation allowed me to explore my personality and my interests better and as a result I’ve discovered a new love: Programming.
I think this blog will be many things. It’s a chronicle of a 28 year-old career changer, a resource for beginner programming tips, and a motivation for me to push things out into the world without shame.
So here we go, let the transformations begin.
